SAN FRANCISCO – Today, in response to the Senate COVID relief bill allocating only $400 million for election assistance, Aimee Allison, Founder of She the People, released the following statement:

“We need a safety net for our democracy, but today's Senate bill fails to provide it. Congress absolutely should not adjourn until they pass funding to convert our elections to vote-by-mail. People are fearful that our scheduled elections this year won't go forward under current conditions, and without real legislation there is no consistent leadership or plan to make sure every American can vote. We need as strong a commitment to our democracy as to our physical and economic health to weather this storm.”
